Achievements

A level is a long way off once you are past the first few, so the game keeps count of the smaller things too. Achievements are tallies kept for each character — creatures slain and how many kinds, wardens, zone bosses and dungeon keepers brought down, outposts discovered, castles taken, farms saved, quests handed in, things made and gathered, named sets completed, players beaten, levels reached, and times you have died — and a chain of marks on each. When a tally reaches the next mark you are told at once: a banner over the screen, a chime, the name over your head and a line in the chat, and a purse of coins lands in your bag. Each is earned once, for good.

Open your achievements with Y. They are grouped by what they are for, a slot each with how far along you are under it; those earned are lit in their tier's colour, from common for the first of a chain to legendary for the fifth. Choose one to read what it asks and what it pays.

Some achievements carry a title. Once you have earned one, choose it in the panel and press Wear title, and your name reads "Grom, the Hunter" on your nameplate to everyone who sees you and on your character sheet; Take off puts it away. You wear one title at a time, and the game remembers which. The table says which achievements carry one.

A kill counts for everyone who earned it, not only whoever landed the blow.

Kill streaks

Kills of one kind of creature in a row make a streak, as long as each comes within 1 minute of the last. A streak sharpens your blows at that kind: 1% more damage for every 5 kills in a row, up to 5%. The streak shows under the bosses felled, beside the minimap, with its count and its bonus, and the chat says each step as you reach it. Killing something else starts a new streak at one, dying ends it, and so does letting the window run out. A kill counts for everyone who earned it, so a party hunting one kind builds its streaks together.
