Leatherworking

Leatherworking makes leather armour from the hides beasts leave, as sewing makes cloth armour from cloth. There are fifty patterns, one every two points of skill: every piece of the world's ten leather sets, from the common Trapper's Hide to the rare Nightjar Leathers and Stagking's Regalia.

Every wolf, black, frost and dire wolves as well as grey, and rats, Puglins, dinosaurs, frogs, Yetis, hares, foxes, badgers, wild boars, feral dogs, wildcats and adders leave a hide for their level when they die, as often as a humanoid leaves cloth: Ragged Hide, then Light, Medium, Heavy and Thick Leather, three levels a tier. A Yeti or Frost Wolf of level 7 or more leaves Frostfur Pelt, which the Nightjar Leathers ask for, and a dragon Dragonscale, which the Stagking's Regalia do. Each tier of hide opens two sets; past the first, a piece is lined with a little of the hide below. A pattern is at home at the level its hide starts to drop (1, 4, 7, 10 and 13): the level you need to read it, and the item level of what it makes.

Patterns are scrolls that drop as recipes do, sharing a kill's one roll; read one from your pouch (K) to learn it. What you make goes into your bag and rolls its quality, Standard to Masterwork, as sewing does. Each piece takes 2 seconds, shown on a craft bar over your action bar, and moving interrupts it with nothing taken for the piece under way.
