Weaponsmithing
Weaponsmithing forges the world's weapons: all seventy, ten each of swords, axes, hammers, daggers, bows, staves and instruments, commons first, from the Bronze Shortsword to the rare Doomhammer and Feywood Mandolin. Seventy patterns spread over the skill, one about every point and a half.
A blade or a hammer is mostly its ore with a grip of wood; a bow, a staff or an instrument mostly its wood, with fittings or strings of ore. A staff, and every rare weapon, takes a gem as well (see gathering). Each pattern's ore and wood are of one tier, copper and ash first and mithril and ironwood last, and it is at home at the level they grow (1, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 13): the level you need to read it, and the item level of what it makes.
Patterns are scrolls ("Plans: …") that drop as recipes do, sharing a kill's one roll; read one from your pouch (K) to learn it. What you forge goes into your bag and rolls its quality, Standard to Masterwork, as sewing does. Each piece takes 2 seconds, shown on a craft bar over your action bar, and moving interrupts it with nothing taken for the piece under way. Open the Weaponsmithing frame by clicking Weaponsmithing in Professions (K).
