Jewelcrafting

Jewelcrafting sets the gems you find in ore veins into trinkets. There are thirty, five forms in each of six gems: a Ring leans to dexterity, a Band to strength, a Signet to intelligence, a Pendant to willpower and an Amulet to all three. Agate is set in copper, Jade in tin and Garnet in iron, all common; Sapphire in silver and Ruby in gold, uncommon; and Diamond in mithril, rare. Thirty patterns spread over the skill, one about every three points.

Nothing drops jewelry and nobody sells it: every ring and amulet in the world was made by a jeweller. A piece takes two to four of its ore and its gem, an Amulet two. A gem comes out of an ore vein of its tier 12% of the time (see gathering). A pattern is at home at the level its ore grows (1, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 13): the level you need to read it, and the item level of what it makes.

Patterns are scrolls ("Design: …") that drop as recipes do, sharing a kill's one roll; read one from your pouch (K) to learn it. What you make goes into your bag and rolls its quality, Standard to Masterwork, as sewing does. Each piece takes 2 seconds, shown on a craft bar over your action bar, and moving interrupts it with nothing taken for the piece under way. A Pendant or an Amulet is worn at the neck.
