Armorsmithing

Armorsmithing forges chain and plate from the ore you mine. There are a hundred patterns, one a point of skill: every piece of the world's ten chain sets and ten plate sets, commons first, chain and plate in turn, from the Sentry's Mail to the rare Dreadnought and Wyrmslayer's Plate.

Each set is forged from one ore, copper for the first and mithril for the last, and a pattern is at home at the level that ore grows (1, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 13): the level you need to read it, and the item level of what it makes. A piece takes its slot's share of ore and two more, plate one more again, and past copper a little of the ore below; a rare set's pieces each take one of their ore's gem, which a vein gives up now and then (see gathering).

Patterns are scrolls ("Plans: …") that drop as recipes do, sharing a kill's one roll; read one from your pouch (K) to learn it. What you forge goes into your bag and rolls its quality, Standard to Masterwork, as sewing does. Each piece takes 2 seconds, shown on a craft bar over your action bar, and moving interrupts it with nothing taken for the piece under way. Open the Armorsmithing frame by clicking Armorsmithing in Professions (K).
